Who is BFBY?
Blumberg Fund for Belizean Youth, (BFBY, Inc) is a 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to providing support for promising students in the southern peninsula of Belize. These students need financial assistance in order to afford their expensive public high school education.
Why Belize?
The organization’s co-founders, Jeff and Elicia Blumberg, served as Peace Corps volunteers there, and wanted to keep a connection to the community that hosted them. Through this non-profit, we aim to help talented but disadvantaged Belizean youth reach their academic and personal potential.
What are we doing?
Though we are only a year old, we have already funded five students, all of whom are progressing beautifully in their studies. We might be small but we dream big: teacher training, school infrastructure and more BFBY scholars are on the horizon.
